How To Use Supernormal

Getting Started (2 minutes)

  1. Sign up at supernormal.com. It connects to Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
  2. Add Supernormal to your calendar or invite it to meetings like you would a person. It joins automatically and starts recording and transcribing.
  3. During the meeting, Supernormal takes notes in real-time. You'll see action items, decisions, and key points being captured as people talk.
  4. When the meeting ends, Supernormal sends you a summary within a minute or two - organized into sections like agenda topics, decisions made, and next steps.
  5. Share the notes with your team via link or sync them directly to Slack, Notion, or your CRM.

What Makes Supernormal Different

Unlike basic transcription tools, Supernormal understands context. It doesn't just write down everything said - it pulls out what matters:

  • Action items with owners: If someone says "I'll follow up on that," Supernormal logs it as a task and assigns it to them.
  • Decisions: When the team agrees on something ("Let's go with Option B"), it gets flagged as a decision so you don't have to dig through the transcript later.
  • Key discussion points: The summary breaks the meeting into topics, so you can skim what was covered without re-reading every word.

How to Use It Effectively

  • Review and edit notes before sharing. Supernormal is accurate, but it's not perfect. Spend 30 seconds cleaning up any misheard names or missing context before sending notes to your team.
  • Integrate with your workflow. If you use Salesforce, HubSpot, or Notion, connect Supernormal so meeting notes flow directly into your CRM or project docs. No copying and pasting.
  • Use templates for recurring meetings. Set up a format for weekly standups or client calls (agenda, updates, blockers, action items) so Supernormal knows how to structure the output.

Pro Tips

  • Let Supernormal attend meetings you can't make. Send it to a meeting on your behalf, then read the summary later. You stay in the loop without sitting through an hour-long call.
  • Search past meetings. Supernormal archives everything. If you need to find "what we decided about pricing in that June client call," search for it and you'll get the exact moment from the transcript.
  • Turn off recording for sensitive conversations. If you're discussing something confidential, pause Supernormal or don't invite it. Not everything needs to be logged.

What It's NOT Good For

  • Meetings with poor audio. If people are talking over each other, the connection is choppy, or someone's mic is terrible, Supernormal will struggle. Clean audio = better notes.
  • Replacing your own attention. If it's a critical meeting where you need to be fully present, don't rely on Supernormal to catch everything. Take your own notes as backup.
