How To Use Podcastle (now Async)

Getting Started (3 minutes)

  1. Go to async.com (Podcastle rebranded to Async in 2024) and create an account. You get access to the full audio and video creation suite.
  2. Hit Record to start capturing audio or video. You can record locally on your computer or phone, or record remote interviews with multiple people - everyone gets studio-quality audio.
  3. Once you're done recording, your file automatically uploads to the editor. Async's AI removes background noise, balances audio levels, and cleans up filler words without you touching anything.
  4. Use the Magic Dust feature (one-click audio enhancement) to make your recording sound like it was done in a professional studio. It handles echo, hiss, and volume inconsistencies instantly.
  5. Export your final audio or video, or publish directly to your podcast host or social media. Async also generates clips for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts automatically.

What Async Does Best

Async is built for creators who want to produce great content without learning audio engineering:

  • AI editing saves hours. Upload a raw podcast episode and Async auto-edits it: removes silences, cuts filler words (um, uh, like), and smooths transitions. You can override anything it does, but the first pass is done for you.
  • Remote recording with studio quality. Each person records locally on their device, so you don't lose quality over video calls. No more "sorry, your audio cut out" moments.
  • AI dubbing and subtitles in 100+ languages. Record in English, click a button, and Async creates a version in Spanish, French, Japanese, or any other language - using an AI voice that matches your tone.

Pro Tips

  • Use Producer Mode if you have a team. Assign roles (host, editor, reviewer) so everyone knows what they're responsible for. Comments and feedback happen right inside the editor instead of over email.
  • Set up your Brand Kit for consistent output. Upload your logo, colors, and intro/outro templates. Every video or podcast you create will automatically match your brand without manual formatting.
  • Record in chapters for easier editing. Break your script into sections and record each as a separate take. If one section needs a redo, you don't have to re-record the whole thing.

What It's NOT Good For

  • Live streaming. Async is built for recording, editing, and publishing - not real-time broadcasting. If you need to go live on YouTube or Twitch, use OBS or StreamYard.
  • Complex multi-track music production. Async handles voice and dialogue beautifully, but it's not a DAW like Pro Tools or Logic. If you're producing music with dozens of tracks and effects, stick with those.
