How To Use NextDocs

Getting Started (2 minutes)

  1. Go to nextdocs.com and click Get Started or Sign Up.
  2. Create an account with your work email. NextDocs is a document automation platform - think of it like mail merge on steroids.
  3. Connect your Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive so NextDocs can pull templates and save generated documents.
  4. Upload a document template (contract, invoice, proposal, NDA - anything you send repeatedly).
  5. Mark the fields that change each time: client name, date, price, deliverables. NextDocs turns these into fill-in-the-blank fields.
  6. Create a new document from your template. Fill in the fields, and NextDocs generates a finished PDF or Word doc in seconds.

Template Ideas

Use these to automate repetitive paperwork.

  • Client proposals: Create a proposal template with sections for scope of work, timeline, pricing, and terms. Fill in the client name and project details - NextDocs does the rest.
  • Invoices: Set up an invoice template with your company info, line items, tax, and total. Generate a new invoice by entering the client name, services, and amount.
  • Contracts and NDAs: Upload your standard contract. Mark fields for client name, start date, payment terms, and project scope. Generate custom contracts in seconds.
  • Onboarding packets: Create an employee welcome doc with company policies, benefits info, and role-specific details. Auto-fill name, start date, and department for each new hire.

Pro Tips

  • Use conditional logic for complex docs. If you select "Service A," NextDocs can auto-populate pricing and terms for that service. If you select "Service B," different text appears. No manual editing.
  • Set up approval workflows. Generate a contract, send it to your manager for review, then auto-send to the client once approved. NextDocs tracks who signed off and when.
  • Integrate with your CRM. Connect NextDocs to Salesforce, HubSpot, or your project management tool. When you close a deal, it auto-generates the contract and sends it for signature.

What It's NOT Good For

  • One-off custom documents. If you're writing something unique every time (like a creative brief or research paper), NextDocs won't help. It's built for templates you use repeatedly.
  • Complex legal documents without a lawyer. NextDocs automates formatting, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review your template before you start generating contracts.
